Aisling Kenny is a soloist and ensemble singer specialising in early music and art song. She sings frequently as a soloist in baroque music: recent performances include Bach Matthäus-Passion, B minor Mass, several of Bach’s cantatas including BWV 106 Actus Tragicus, BWV 140 Wachet auf,and BWV 202 Weichet nur betrübte Schatten, Handel Messiah, Dixit Dominus and Armida abbandonata. Aisling has appeared with Irish Baroque Orchestra, the Irish Chamber Orchestra, Camerata Kilkenny, Marlborough Baroque, the Orchestra of St Cecilia, Linden Baroque and the Staatskapelle Halle and has performed at Galway Early Music Festival, Sligo Baroque Festival, Kilkenny Arts Festival, Edinburgh Festival Fringe and New Music Dublin. She is an active recitalist of lute song and Lieder. She is a member of Resurgam since 2008 and sings with several ensembles including Ensemble Revelare, Chamber Choir Ireland, Sestina and Crux Vocal Ensemble. She studied music at Maynooth University and singing and historical performance at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis with Evelyn Tubb. In Basel, she participated in masterclasses with Emma Kirkby and Andreas Scholl. In March 2019, she takes up an Artistic Residency at the Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris, supported by Music Network and the Arts Council.
